Educational Experiences
We can:
Utilise our farm buildings to provide an educational base for outdoor learning opportunities;
Make links to a variety of subjects in the national curriculum (thanks to Rach’s role as a primary school teacher in a nearby village school) through a range of our topics such as: farm tours, habitats & conservation, food for thought, wonderful wool and
seasonal art;
Provide ready-made risk assessment documents for our venue and activities;
Use the farm as a location to offer the John Muir Award;
Signpost schools to funding and grants that are available to them to cover the costs of a paid educational trip.
Workshops
We provide a cross-curricular, practical once in a lifetime experience that appeals to all ages.
Wonderful Wool
Ideal for Key Stages from Foundation Upwards…
Keeping traditional skills alive!
Your day starts with an in-depth farm tour meeting all our animals and seeing how we work together with nature on our farm. Learn about habitats, life cycles and animal adaptations, food webs, geographical features, land use and much more.
Witness the journey of wool from sheep to finished product. Have a go at learning to spin yarn, weaving on a loom or wet felting a piece of art inspired by the land around us. Each Child will take home an age related handmade woolly craft from their workshop.
